The WA State Government Leavers Strategy is a harm minimisation response to School Leaver's celebrations in the South West and on Rottnest Island. Events occurring outside of the Strategy and in other locations; such as boat parties and pre/post Leavers week events, are not supported by the WA Police Force, the Department of Health, or partner organisations.

Meelup Beach Day
Get your boardies and bathers and come down to the Don’t Drink & Drown Meelup Beach Day! Keep an eye on the website and Leavers Facebook page for more information closer to Leavers.
Each year Royal Life Saving Society WA holds a massive beach party at the stunning Meelup Beach.
The days are filled with awesome tunes from resident Leavers DJ’s from Beat Collective, as well as games and a giant Aqua Playground, all on the backdrop of one of the best beaches in Australia.
If you get hungry or thirsty there will be food vans available to purchase food and cold drinks.
Volunteers from a number of agencies are there to look after you and they work hard to make sure you have fun.
This day is strictly drug and alcohol free, and there is no access to private cars. So make sure you get on the bus from the Town Centre early as we had approximately 5000 people in 2017!
You may even get snapped by our photographers or be spotted at our “Submerged Studio”, and all photos can be found on the Don’t Drink & Drown Facebook page.
If you need any more convincing, check out the photos from 2017 on the Don't Drink & Drown Facebook Page.
