Busselton-Dunsborough Volunteers provides for its member not-for-profit organizations the following:
- Volunteer opportunity registration on our confidential database
- Custom referral service; matching the person and skills to your opportunity
- Best practice standards in volunteering
- Access to information, consultancy and training
- Promotion of volunteering in our community
- Increased organizational visibility
- Web based Newsletter
- Events calendar
- Searchable database for volunteer of your volunteer opportunities
- Facilitate community/business partnerships and Employee Volunteering Programs (EVP’s)
- Promote short term or one-off projects requiring professional or specific volunteer skills
- Access to our Community Skills Bank
To become a member we require that your organization meets the following minimum standards for involving volunteers:
- Have a ‘not for profit’ status
- Have a ‘manager of volunteers’ position, or other appropriate contact person
- Have written job descriptions for the type of volunteer work available
- Have personal accident insurance and a minimum of $5 million public liability insurance for volunteers
- Inform volunteers of the organization’s policy on reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses
- Provide training appropriate to the task
